When National Public Radio broadcasts live from the Milwaukee Public Museum on Friday, May 16, for a special edition of “Talk of the Nation: Science Friday,” scientists from UWM will be part of the panel of experts discussing the Great Lakes.
J. Val Klump, director of UWM’s Great Lakes WATER Institute, and Rebecca Klaper, Shaw Assistant Scientist, will appear to help the show’s host, Ira Flatow, inform listeners across the country about the most pressing freshwater issues.
In addition, Senior Scientist Russell Cuhel and Associate Scientist Carmen Aguilar will be interviewed for a related report by NPR on the quagga mussel invasion in Lake Michigan.
The broadcast begins at 1 p.m. and airs on the Ideas Network of Wisconsin Public Radio (in Milwaukee, 90.7 WHAD-FM).
