W. Basketball. Panthers Take On Northern Illinois Wednesday
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team hosts Northern Illinois Wednesday at the Klotsche Center. The game will be the Panthers' last home contest before hitting the road for four games in three states. UWM and NIU tip off at 7 p.m. The Huskies lead the all-time series with Milwaukee, 10-7, but it was the Panthers coming out of the last meeting in 2008 victorious. After losing nine of the first 10 meetings in the series, UWM has topped Northern Illinois in six of the last seven games.

M. Basketball. Panthers Ride Opening Surge To Convincing Win
James Eayrs scored 28 points and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee built a 26-point halftime lead en route to a 96-77 win over Texas State Monday night in a consolation game of the NIT Season Tipoff Tournament. UWM (3-2) scored the first 16 points of the game and was never threatened after that. The lead actually grew to 32 points early in the second half and the Panthers made liberal use of their bench from there. In fact, Eayrs scored his 28 points in just 19 minutes, scoring 22 in the first half alone. Deonte Roberts added 14 points and six assists while Ricky Franklin pitched-in with 12 points and five assists in just 17 minutes. The game was foul-filled, with 64 fouls and 75 free throws between the two teams.

W. Volleyball. Felsing Earns ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Honors
Lauren Felsing of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's volleyball team has earned CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America recognition. Felsing carries a 3.97 grade-point average in marketing and claimed a spot on the third team after winning ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors earlier this month. This is the second-straight season the senior libero has earned Academic All-America honors, while she is one of two UWM volleyball players to ever win Academic All-America acclaim. Cheryl Hegemann was named to the third team in 2006. On the court, Felsing has led the Panthers to the NCAA Tournament for an eighth time this season. She claimed tournament most valuable player honors after averaging 4.75 digs per set in UWM's three victories.

W. Volleyball. Panthers Complete Amazing Turnaround With Title Win Over Cleveland State
After a loss at Wright State on Oct. 11, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's volleyball team had just five wins to its credit and stood in eighth place in the Horizon League. Six weeks later, the Panthers are again champions. Maddie Sueppel had 16 kills and tournament most valuable player Lauren Felsing led a stellar defensive effort with 16 digs as Milwaukee claimed a 27-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-13 win over Cleveland State Sunday afternoon at Woodling Gymnasium in the title match of the 2009 Horizon League Volleyball Tournament. The third-seeded Panthers (16-14), who have now won 11-straight matches, never trailed in the final two sets to claim their sixth league tournament crown and eighth NCAA Tournament berth.

M. Basketball. Panthers Off To Texas For Two More NIT Contests
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team plays two more games in the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tipoff, facing Texas State Monday and Colgate Tuesday. Both games are being played on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, with TCU also playing both Texas State and Colgate. The Panthers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 62-54 win over Hillsdale (Mich.) Saturday. Milwaukee led by 14 points at halftime. UWM's two losses came to Western Kentucky and Indiana State in the opening round of the NIT. James Eayrs is averaging 16 points per game through four contests and has three double-doubles.
