As Wisconsin’s largest nursing program

the College of Nursing at UWM has made its home in Milwaukee, the commercial, cultural and economic capital of Wisconsin, since 1965.

Across Southeastern Wisconsin, our competitive, collaborative nursing program is valued for its ability to prepare science-based, compassionate nurse leaders through innovative, quality educational programs.

Preparing entry-level nursing professionals is only the beginning of our commitment to meeting the needs of diverse, in-demand nursing professions. From pediatrics to geriatrics, community clinics to pharmaceutical labs, our faculty conduct research and scholarship that advances science in nursing and health, and they don't do this alone. The college recruits students from first-year to online PhD candidates, nursing administrators to nurse practitioners, for research and mentorship opportunities that prepare College of Nursing graduates at every practice level to transform health care delivery and health policy.
