The UWM College of Nursing is pleased to announce that Sarah Morgan, PhD, RN has earned the designation Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) after meeting strict eligibility criteria and successfully completing a rigorous certification examination developed and administered by the National League for Nursing (NLN).
Dr. Morgan joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2008. She currently teaches Cultural Diversity in Health Care- a large freshman lecture course as well as Issues in Women’s Health and Development, a completely online elective class for Master’s and Doctoral students. Dr. Morgan has also done a variety of clinical teaching and has taught for the UWM Department of Women’s Studies as well.
Dr. Morgan also provides leadership in a number of areas on and off the UWM campus. In 2009, she was nominated by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, and confirmed by the Common Council’s Public Safety Committee to be a member of the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission.The NLN’s Academic Nurse Educator Certification (ANEC) Program has conferred new visibility and stature upon the academic nursing community, long overdue, said Dr. Beverly Malone,
