Engaging with our Community to Develop Solutions for a Healthier TomorrowOne of the first nursing schools in the nation to establish community nursing centers, the UWM College of Nursing enjoys longstanding partnerships with two Milwaukee community centers. After 30 years of collaborating with communities, the CON has developed a unique nursing model of care linking public health and primary care. Our Community Nursing Centers had over 10,000 primary health care encounters last year. In addition to the community nursing centers, CON faculty engage in practice contracts that enhance the relationship between the college and communities in Southwestern Wisconsin.
