Before joining the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee staff in 2003, Betty served as Director of Obstetrical Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked at St Joseph’s Hospital for 30years working as a staff nurse and eventually Director of Obstetrical Services.
Since joining the UWM staff in 2003, Betty has taught and worked in community health nursing at the Community Nursing Centers. She has also collaborated with Dr. Laura Anderko in environmental health nursing.

Teaching
Betty has taught Community Health Nursing at the UWM Silver Spring Community Nursing Center to senior nursing students since 2003. The course focuses on the application of the nursing process in the community setting, especially vulnerable populations.
