Dr. Litwack has been a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee since 2004. Prior to this, she was an Associate Professor at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan (2000-2004), the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque (1992-2000) and Rush University (1984-1992). Her nursing background has been in the areas of critical care, perianesthesia care and more recently, ambulatory care and pain management.

Research/Scholarship
Dr. Litwack is recognized as an expert in Perianesthesia Care and Pain Management. She has published in the Journal of Perianesthesia Nursing, Anesthesia Today, Nursing Clinics of North America and Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and as a Certified Perianesthesia Nurse (CPAN) and a Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA).
