Prior to my retirement in 2005, I conducted research on Lifestyle modification to promote health and prevent disease and its complications. I also had been Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Director of the Doctoral Program, and Associate Dean for Research. I use the knowledge I gained from these positions to help launch the online doctoral program at the CON in 2003 and continue to teach one doctoral research course online.
ResearchMy research focus is on prevention of chronic illnesses or the amelioration of the diseases in middle age and older adults. My work has included the development and testing of a lifestyle modification model for weight control, smoking cessation, and promotion of exercise in diabetes and heart disease.
