Academic Advising
Prospective doctoral applicants work with a Student Services Advisor to discuss their interests, learn more about the PhD program, discuss the application process and their personal application, and connect with resources such as Financial Aid and academic assistance. Candidates should also contact the Graduate Programs Director to discuss coursework and research interests.

Upon admission to the doctoral program, you will work with your Initial Faculty Advisor to prepare a plan of study and narrow your research interests. After completing your first full year of classes, you will work with your Initial Faculty Advisor to complete a Formal Plan of Study and choose a Major Professor.

As you move through your program, you continue working with your Student Services Advisor on administrative processes.

If you would like to arrange an advising appointment, please call 414.229.5047.
