Doctor of Philosophy - Online
At UW–Milwaukee, our doctoral students are prepared to be scholars, capable of contributing to the knowledge base of nursing. They develop a sound foundation in theory, research, and phenomena associated with the discipline. Our graduates are ready for careers in education, research, and practice, and to assume leadership positions.
The curriculum in the doctoral program emphasizes development of conceptual skills and critical analysis of the realm of nursing, its knowledge base, and the social and political contexts of nursing practice.
The Online PhD option offers the same high-quality curriculum and excellent faculty as the On-Campus option. Although this option is nearly identical to the on-campus format, there are minor differences. Students are admitted to the online option as a cohort and must progress consistent with the scheduled course offerings. Online courses are offered every two years and must be taken in sequence.
