Clinical Nurse Specialist Program

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Program is available to RN/s who have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Students in this program may be full or part time students and are encouraged to have professional RN experience by the start of the practicum portion of the program.

Students in this program are prepared to assume leadership roles in practice, research and administration within the health care profession. Students develop their skills and work within a diverse, urban community. Our many partnerships allow master's students flexibility in planning learning experienced to meet their individual needs.

CNS students are experts in research and theory based nursing practice within a specialty area. They are an essential resource for other nurses and are role models for expert patient care and case management. Students choose from the following options:

  • Maternal/Child Health
  • Psychiatric/Mental Health
  • Nursing Systems
