Curriculum

As you are completing the RN-BS program and intend on applying to the MS program, you will be permitted to complete 4 graduate courses which are accepted toward your MS degree, assuming you are admitted.

While while you are attending these "bridge" courses, you will also be applying to the Graduate School submitting your application materials to the College of Nursing for either the MS - CNS or MS - FNP program.

Core Courses (MS "bridge"): 12 credits

NURS 725 Nursing Research and Knowledge Generation
NURS 727 Epidemiology
NURS 729 Health Care Systems and Adv. Nursing Practice
NURS 735 Theoretical Foundations of Adv. Nursing Practice

Once admitted to the MS program, you will continue to complete the remaining 4 MS core courses as well as 9 credits of support courses for either the CNS program or the theory courses for the FNP program.

NURS 707 Advanced Pharmacology
NURS 753 Physiological Basis of Adv. Nursing Practice
NURS 754 Comprehensive Assessment of Health (includes lab)
NURS 784 Advanced Nursing Practice Interventions

The practicum sequence consists of three consecutive semesters. During this sequence, you will be assigned a practicum setting for approximately 12-15 hours per week, in addition to attending the CNS support courses or FNP theory courses as well as working on your research and clinical project/thesis.
