Fitzgerald, Kathleen L. Passed away on May 8, 2014, at her home in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on March 30, 1954, Kathy lived a life devoted to caring for others, through her extensive nursing career and her position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee/ Parkside, where she has left a legacy through her many dedicated students. Outside of her career, Kathy loved travel, photography, reading, and spending time with family and friends, by whom she will be desperately missed. She is survived by her loving parents, Raymond and Virginia Fitzgerald; her siblings, Tim Fitzgerald, Kevin Fitzgerald and his wife Jill, Colleen Duffy and her husband William; and her nephews and nieces, Megan Fitzgerald, Eimile Fitzgerald, Zach Mitschrich, Ryan Duffy and Jack Duffy. – See more
Kathy Fitzgerald had a primary focus on clinical practice in the hospital setting. With over 30 years in the hospital in various roles and a long history of certification as a Med-Surg nurse (CMSRN), her areas of interest included the care of the post-operative patient as well as the cardiac patient. Most recently she was a clinical educator at St. Francis Hospital on a unit with surgical, orthopedic and pediatric patients.
