Center for Urban Population Health
The Center for Urban Population Health was established as a partnership of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH), Aurora Health Care (AHC), and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM). Their mission is to conduct and facilitate original population health research and educational initiatives that improve the health of urban communities through collaboration with academic and community organizations.
Center for International Health
The CIH mission is to improve global health through international health partnerships that offer training, consultation, technical assistance, material resources and health systems development techniques to strengthen the clinical, technical and management capabilities of health professionals worldwide. Their focus includes primary healthcare development; maternal and child health; women's health issues, nutritional services; and hospital and health policy administration, among other things.
House of Peace Community Center
The House of Peace has been serving the needy in the heart of Milwaukee’s Central City since 1968. As a faith-based organization, the House of Peace serves the community by assisting families and individuals in meeting their spiritual, material, and emotional needs, thereby helping families remain together and promoting self-sufficiency. The House of Peace provides many services including a nursing clinic, the American Cancer Society Loaning Closet, an emergency food pantry and a clothing center.
International Council of Nurses
ICN's Mission: To represent nursing worldwide, advancing the profession and influencing health policy. Operated by nurses for nurses, ICN works to ensure quality nursing care for all, sound health policies globally, the advancement of nursing knowledge, and the presence worldwide of a respected nursing profession and a competent and satisfied nursing workforce. The ICN three goals are to bring nursing together worldwide; to advance nurses and nursing worldwide; and to influence health policy.
Milwaukee Public Schools
Serving the students of the City of Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Public School District has recently created an Action Plan to Improve Milwaukee Public Schools 2007-2012. The expectations, goals and targets set out here are a blueprint for the transformation of Milwaukee Public Schools into one of the finest school districts in the nation. The mission is for Milwaukee Public Schools to educate all students for success in higher education, careers and responsible citizenship so that MPS is the first choice for families.
Milwaukee Health Department
The MHD is responsible for the administration of several varied health programs that encompass five major health outcomes for the City of Milwaukee. It is also their responsibility to meet state and federal compliance measures in delivering essential public health services to the Milwaukee community. The Milwaukee Health Department provides a variety of services that assist Milwaukee area communities including: Medical Assistance Outreach Programs, Woman and Child Health Programs, Home Visits for Moms and Babies, Teen Health Programs, Food Safety, Immunizations, Injury & Violence Prevention, Disease Control and Prevention, Emergency Preparedness and Response, MAPP Community Health Assessment, and others.
Silver Spring Neighborhood Center
Established in 1958, Silver Spring Neighborhood Center is a private, not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening and enriching the Westlawn and neighboring community and its residents by providing comprehensive and collaborative programs and services which community residents identify and are responsive to changing community needs. SSNC is dedicated to helping individuals grow socially, emotionally, and academically to enable them to become self-sufficient, contributing members of society; preserving and strengthening the family where it is threatened by an unfavorable environment; and strengthening the community by helping residents identify and achieve common goals.

The mission of the Wisconsin Center for Nursing is to assure an adequate, well-prepared and diverse nurse workforce to meet the needs of the citizens of Wisconsin. The overall goals of the Wisconsin Center for Nursing are to bring Wisconsin nurses, professional organizations, academic and service providers together as collaborative partners in efforts to support the State’s health plan, “Healthiest Wisconsin 2010;” collect, analyze and disseminate state nursing workforce data to assist health care organizations effectively utilize nursing resources; and institute statewide nurse recruitment and retention efforts to insure a sufficient nursing workforce for Wisconsin.
