Amy Coenen, PhD, RN, FAAN

Professor

Dr. Coenen is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Nursing. Her research has focused on nursing and health care informatics. More specifically her research has been in the area of data and terminology standards for the electronic health record. Her areas of expertise include Psychiatric mental health nursing and health system infrastructure, including health informatics.

Dr. Coenen is currently funded by the International Council of Nurses (ICN), in Geneva Switzerland, to serve as the Director of the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) Programme within the ICN eHealth Programme.

Dr. Coenen is a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Family of International Classification working groups and the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) Nursing Special Interest Group.
