Discovering Ways to Improve Health and Health Care
The College of Nursing is celebrating an enormous increase in extramural research. Supported by the excellent staff of the Harriet H. Werley Center for Nursing Research and Evaluation, over 75% of all UWM tenure track faculty members are currently conducting funded research. Nursing faculty and staff led the campus, in 2007, in percentage increase in extramural funding with a 191% increase over the college average for the prior three years. Last year, the CON was ranked 28th in NIH funding to nursing schools and Dr. Rachel Schiffman, Associate Dean for Research, projects even higher rankings in coming years.
