Changing Your Major to Nursing
Thank you for your interest in the College of Nursing and wanting to change your major to nursing. Changing your major to nursing is not an automatic process and their are specific requirements you need to meet before your major can be officially changed.
You are required to attend a Change of Major Information Session before meeting with an advisor to discuss changing your major. The purpose of the Information Session is to discuss the specifics of the nursing program and the requirements you need to change your major.
The Change of Major Information Sessions are held monthly on Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm in Cunningham Hall room 505. Registration is REQUIRED! The dates for the Spring 2009 semester are:
- Tuesday, April 14 and April 28
- Tuesday, May 5
You MUST schedule to attend a Change of Major Information Session by calling the College of Nursing Student Affairs Office at 414-229-5047 or stopping in Cunningham Hall room 135.
After you have attended a Change of Major Information Session, you can schedule an individual appointment with a Nursing advisor.
Requirements to Change Your Major
The specific requirements needed to Change your Major to Nursing are:
- Completion of 15 credits
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater
- A grade of B or better in one of the required pre-nursing science classes: Chemistry 101, Chemistry 103, Bio Sci 202, Bio Sci 203, Physics 110, Bio Sci 101 or CLS 332.
