Second Degree in Nursing

Students with a prior degree in a field other than nursing, who are interested in nursing as a career, have two options at UWM. You can apply to our second Bachelor's degree in Nursing which prepares you to become an R.N., or you can pursue a career as a Masters prepared nurse.

Second degree students need to complete all requirements of the nursing program.

Your first step to pursue one of these paths is to attend a mandatory Information Session (assuming you live in the greater Milwaukee area) to learn about the Second Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and the Master's Program.

You can also fax the transcripts to 414-229-5554. After that you can call the Student Affairs Office at 414-229-5047 to make an appointment to see the advisor, Donna Wier.

Application deadlines are February 1 for the Fall Semester and December 1 for the Spring Semester.
