Simulation Labs
Equipped with the latest technology, the simulation labs are home to a family of human patient simulators (HPS) including a newborn, a 6-month old infant, a 6-year old child, several adult HPS and our newest addition, Noelle, which is a birthing simulator.
Nursing students participate in simulated patient care scenarios where they develop skills in therapeutic communication, problem-solving, prioritizing, assessment and clinical judgment.
In a simulated environment, a scenario is developed to be as close to reality as possible, yet the student can practice without fear of harm to a real patient. This form of learning has been demonstrated to be especially useful to develop clinical judgment and build confidence in nursing students.
