  • Milwaukee Partnership Academy is a community wide partnership. This urban PK-16 council is directly focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning in the Milwaukee Public Schools


  • Milwaukee Teacher Education Association is the teacher’s union. MTEA is a partner in improving the teaching and learning in Milwaukee Public Schools.


  • Carl Hanssen is the designated outside evaluator of the Milwaukee Mathematics Partnership grant.


  • National Science Foundation is the funding source for the Milwaukee Mathematics Partnership grant.



Professional Organizations

  • Wisconsin Mathematics Council is a professional association for Wisconsin PK-20 mathematics teachers offering professional development opportunities, aligned with NCTM.


  • National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is a professional association for mathematics teachers.


  • Mathematical Association of America is the largest professional society that focuses on undergraduate mathematics education. Membership includes university, college, and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and many others in academia, government, business, and industry.

  • Finding Common Ground in K-12 Mathematics Education, by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), hopes to help encourage and facilitate constructive discourse between mathematicians and mathematics educators in order to seek common ground in their mutual efforts to improve K-12 mathematics teaching and learning. This site will serve as a repository for documents resulting from these efforts.


  • The American Mathematical Society aims to further math research and learning through programs and services. It also strives to make connections to various content areas and to other aspects of daily living.


  • The Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences is an organization with underlying societies all aiming to enhance or disperse knowledge in one or more of the mathematical sciences.

  • Center for Mathematics and Science Education Research at UWM (CMSER) coordinates research, teacher education, curriculum development and implementation, and dissemination efforts in mathematics and science education, and fosters rich partnerships with educational institutions and organizations throughout the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

  • MSPnet is an electronic learning community for the Math Science Partnership (MSP) program through NSF. Through the MSPnet Hub, MSP projects can exchange resources and tools and learn from each other's experience. Some sections of this site have been made available to the public to increase awareness of the efforts and achievements of the MSP program.


  • Wisconsin Department of Instruction is the source for information about all educational initiatives and data in Wisconsin.


  • Wisconsin DPI Assessment Frameworks The Department of Public Instruction has developed assessment frameworks for the new criterion-referenced mathematics and reading tests that are administered annually. These frameworks provide an overview of materials covered on the tests to help students and teachers prepare.


  • The Center for Proficiency in Teaching Mathematics aims to develop educator support in both learning and materials to enhance student math proficiency.
