Politics and Possibilities of India-U.S.A Outsourcing Jobs

This research explores communication about the U.S.A-India job outsourcing issue. Specific sources of data include media communication such as stories in the newspaper, chatroom exchanges, electronic newsletters, and visual culture in the form of cartoons in print and electronic media. Additionally, data was collected through interviews with executives in the outsourcing sector.

Tasks and responsibilities:

1) Making sense of the outsourcing language in chat rooms and electronic newsletters by identifying themes in the anti- and pro-outsourcing sides. 2) Identifying themes in interviews conducted with Indian male executives in the outsourcing sector. 3) Collection of data from the Internet on the issue so as to make my book-in-progress up to date.
