Harvesting Wave Energy From Lake Michigan
The project's objective is to transform Lake Michigan's shoreline wave energy into transmittable electric power. The wave energy harvesting machines original idea and an initial prototype were designed by Mr. Narendra Patel. The prototype is made of wood and is currently used as a proof-of-concept. Our team would re-design the machine to improve its performance. We would also study wave patterns of the Milwaukee shoreline to optimize the mechanical design for better power outcome. The prototype will be built in CEAS labs and designed using SolidWorks CAD software. Theoretical dynamics models of the machine will be also created.
