Sandbag Exercise - Physiological Responses

In recent years, the exercise and fitness industry has witnessed a growth in the number of different exercise modalities available for resistance training. One of those newer modalities is "Sandbag Training" which utilizes a dynamic variable resistance approach. The popularity of Sandbag training warrants research to better understand the physiological responses to this form of resistance exercise. This project will examine muscle activation and heart rate responses from individuals performing sandbag exercises.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will include assistance with participant recruitment, data collection, and data entry. Additional responsibilities will include assistance with lab maintenance and review of the current literature. Students will be expected to be an active member of the Human Performance and Sport Physiology Lab and attend laboratory meetings generally held every other week.
