Office of Undergraduate Research

Evaluation of Novel Small Molecule Modulators of Nuclear Receptor Mediated Transcription

The objective of this research is the identification of highly selective transcriptional inhibitors that modulate the vitamin D receptor mediated gene regulation. The student will use biochemical and cell-based transcription assays in order to access the specificity of these compounds among different nuclear receptors.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Amplification of DNA plasmids, maintenance of a mammalian cell culture, execution of a fluorescence polarization based binding assay.
