Goal: To migrate approximately 4 terabytes of e-mail data from PantherMail to PantherLink

Completed as of March 27, 2008:

• Approximately 50 faculty, staff and student test accounts running
• Development and test environment in place
• Plans underway to design and build production environment
• LDAP authentication functionality confirmed in new environment
• Configure servers
• Assess the impact of the migration on the current e-mail environment
• Develop data back-up strategies
• Draft Phase 2 communications plan

Technical tasks to be completed:

• Investigate ways to integrate UWM brand into application
• Develop migration Help Desk documentation
• Migrate user accounts from PantherMail to the PantherLink infrastructure (with no interface change)

Client issues to be investigated:

• PantherCal: Ascertain the impact of the migration on PantherCal
• GroupWise and Exchange accounts: Address the migration of accounts utilizing GroupWise and Exchange
• Training: Formulate content for campuswide training materials
• myUWM portal: Prototype PantherLink functionality in the myUWM portal
