Student Parking
Commuter Student Parking Options
Because there is limited space on campus, permit parking is not available to non-resident students. Students may park in any public space on campus subject to posted time restrictions and adequate payment. As a transit alternative, students may use the UPARK lots for free.
Many lots utilize multiple-space pay stations which accept small bills as well as change, others have single-space meters which only accept coins. No permit is required except when parking in outdoor lots between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Student and public parking is not permitted in faculty/staff lots of spaces during hours of restriction.
The Student Union garage is the most centrally located public parking facility. It is a cashiered garage; cashiers can only accept cash payment. It is located off Kenwood Blvd two blocks west of Downer Ave. The garage borders the Student Union, Bolton Hall, the Peck School of the Arts, and the Golda Meir Library.
The NWQ parking garage and Levels 4&5 of the Pavillion garage. No-Pay parking spaces are available here for students with a valid Student ID and UPASS sticker. Open 7 a.m. - 10 p.m., Monday thru Thursday, and closes at 6 p.m. on Fridays. These locations are also closed on weekends, holidays, and periods when classes are not in session - Fall and Spring semester only.
All other student parking is in mixed-regulation pay station lots and garages. Each has student/public parking sections and staff reserved sections. PLEASE NOTE THE SIGN IN FRONT OF YOUR SPACE. Public spaces have a space number and payment instructions at each space. Reserved sections are clearly marked with conspicuous signage stating: RESERVED. Parking without proper permits in spaces identified as RESERVED will result in ticketing/towing.
