Special Visitors/Departmental Guests

Special visitors and department guests may be eligible for special parking arrangements. Ask your hosting department for more details.

  1. Only deans, division heads, directors, department chairpersons or their designated representatives are allowed to request special visitor parking reservations on behalf of their faculty and staff. Special visitor/guest permits cannot be provided to anyone who is employed by the University. Student Association recognized student organizations may request reservations through the Dean of Students Office.
  2. Establish a blanket account with Parking and Transit for special visitor/guest parking services.

    Available permits:
    1. For portions of a day
      (A) Mornings 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
      (P) Afternoons 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
      (E) Evenings 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
    2. For an entire day
      7:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.
      Any overlapping period, no matter how short, is counted as an all day period.
  3. Request a reservation(s) at least 48 hours in advance in writing or by completing the Special Visitor Request Form and faxing it to 414-229-2933. Information that we will need at the time a reservation is made includes:
    1. Date, parking preference, location and time period parking reservation(s) is/are desired.
    2. PK number, name and phone number of a department contact person.

Student organizations with proper authorization from the Dean of Students Office may pay by cash or check.

Parking and Transit will then issue a permit for a specific parking space. A permit and a map with parking instructions for the visitor/guest will be available for pick-up at the Parking Office.

Restrictions include:

  • A limit of 2 reservations per department in outdoor lots on any given day. Reservations will be made on a first-come/ first-served basis.
  • A maximum of 26 spaces in outdoor lots may be reserved campus wide for any given day.
  • Special visitor parking spaces may not be reserved for regular UWM employees or students.
  • Parking arrangements can be made for the Union and Business Garages. A special Value Pass will be issued to the guests. These areas are not restricted to the limit of 2 reservations per day.
