Special Event – Transit of Venus

June 5th, 5:00-7:30 pm

Transit of Venus

Join us for live music, a planetarium show, brats, and viewing as we celebrate the transit of Venus on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 5-7:30 p.m.!

View the planet Venus moving across the disc of the Sun through telescopes with special filters outside of the planetarium. This once in a lifetime opportunity won't happen again until December 2117.

Along with viewing the transit, a special planetarium show will be held inside the planetarium. Audiences will find out what we can learn from the transit of Venus and how we can use transits of other planets outside the solar system.

There will also be a cookout with brats for sale and live music by the bands Canyons of Static and Dawn of Man.

Tickets:
Admission is $2 and will grant you access to use the telescopes, see the planetarium show, and see the bands playing. Brats and refreshments will be available for purchase at the event. No reservations are required.

Note that this is a family-friendly event for everyone over 4 years old. The planetarium is wheelchair accessible.

In case of inclement weather, outdoors viewing of the transit will be canceled but all other activities will go on as scheduled indoors.
