Manfred Olson Planetarium, Physics Building
Join the UWM Planetarium in recognizing the creativity of art with the beauty of the cosmos! On Saturday, April 12, 2014 students, faculty, and local artists will be displaying their space-themed art work in the physics building hallway right outside the UWM Planetarium. The artwork will also be available for purchase during a silent auction. Half the proceeds will benefit the artists and the other half will benefit the UWM Planetarium.
In addition to the beautiful art, Art in Space will feature a special planetarium show highlighting the artistry of astronomical photography and the insights that artists' visualizations can bring to our understanding of astronomical phenomena. Audience members will enjoy looking at spring constellations in the city and country skies.
Free refreshments will be served and great donations from local businesses will be available during a silent auction.
Admission is $15 at the door, or $5 with a UWM student ID.
Although children are welcome to planetarium programs and events, Art in Space is not recommended for children under the age of nine.
First time at the planetarium?
We look forward to exploring the cosmos with you!
