Finance and Administrative Affairs

The University Police Department is located in the West Tower of the Sandburg Residence Hall and reports to the Division of Finance and Administrative Affairs. We are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has an authorized strength of 43 full-time sworn police officers. Support personnel include dispatchers, clericals and 22 U-park security officers.

 

We have a number of certified trained officers with the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA). Officers on bikes will enable our department to respond to calls for service in a faster manner, as well as ensuring a safer campus environment.

Mission Statement

The mission of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Police Department is to provide a safe and secure environment in which to learn, live and work.

Organizational Goals/Objectives:

Provide exceptional police service through progressive and technologically sound practices. Utilize effective police-community partnerships to effectively resolve problems collaboratively within the University community.

Services Offered:

Vehicle Lock-outs, Jump starts, License Plate Renewal, Identification Engraving, Lost and Found (wallets, purses, keys, iPods, cell phones, laptops, jump drives, etc.), and many other services.

Training:

Alcohol Awareness, Self Defense, Rape Aggression Defense (RAD, International Police Mountain Bike (IPMBA), and other community policing events.
