Personal Web Space Migration

On August 28-30, all personal web pages at www.uwm.edu/~epantherid will be copied to their respective PantherFile space at pantherfile.uwm.edu/epantherid/www/.

Once the migration has been completed site owners will be notified and requested that they review and test their site at the new location.

On October 15, 2009, the hosting of personal pages in the legacy environment will cease, and all web traffic will be redirected to the users’ new personal site on PantherFile.

CGI/Perl Components

PLEASE NOTE: The PantherFile environment does not support CGI/Perl and components of a few sites may not work in the new environment. There are numerous alternate third-party-hosted solutions available for many of the common uses of CGI/Perl scripts. Two of the most common uses on this campus are for forms and visitor tracking. We recommend the following alternatives for those two uses:

UWM Survey Instrument
The survey instrument allows for the building of surveys and simple forms and provides detailed data analysis and reports. The use of this instrument is free to anyone with an ePantherID. For more information about the survey instrument and its features, check out: www.surveyinstrument.uwm.edu.

Google Analytics

Google offers a very powerful (and free) web analytics package. Reaching well beyond your basic counter, Google tracks page visits, browsers, page ranks, keywords, etc. The software is free and only requires a small line of code be added to each page you'd like to track.
