The Department of Visual Art distributes more than $55,000 in scholarships and fellowships to incoming and continuing students at the undergraduate and graduate level each year. Scholarships for incoming undergraduate students are awarded through the portfolio review process. Scholarships for students entering their sophomore year are awarded through the Foundations program. Continuing students entering their junior and senior years may participate in two annual competitions: the Sophomore Competition and the Junior Competition. Graduate students are eligible for Chancellor's Awards and other forms of support.

Other opportunities include the B.F.A. exhibition for graduating seniors and the M.A./M.F.A. exhibitions for graduate students.
