"Artathon is an annual event that gives Art and Design first year and transfer students a very different perspective on what is possible as an art or design major. This event is not only fun, but also a great way for students to meet other future art and design majors, upper level students, art suppliers, and faculty. The prizes and art supply gift certificates given out this past year at our pizza party were incredibly generous too, over $2000 in gift certificates and gifts. In fact, every student came away with bags of free art supplies.
Students were amazed by what they gained and they liked feeling a part of something larger – a community of artists and designers. It is a not-to-be-missed event for all first year students.
Special thanks to Artist and Display and Utrecht Art Supply, as well as our own UWM Union Arts and Craft Center for their generous support of, and participation in, this event."
