kathryn e. martin has exhibited extensively, in solo and group shows throughout the United States. With a focus on observing everyday, often overlooked objects, martin concentrates on formal characteristics and makes instinctive, calculated decisions to dissect, interpret, repeat and re-assemble parts into a new whole. In doing so, she works to change inherent functions and makes visible the invisible in her often large-scale, site-specific installations and objects. Along with her gallery, museum, and privately collected works, martin has two public sculptures in Wisconsin; one along the Hank Aaron State Trail in Milwaukee and the other resides on the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s campus.
