Nicolas Lampert is an interdisciplinary artist and writer whose work focuses on themes of social justice and ecology. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, MASS MoCA, Philagraphika, RMIT Gallery (Melbourne International Arts Festival), and the Biennial of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Collectively, he works with the Justseeds Artist's Cooperative (www.justseeds.org), a worker-owned collective of 25 printmakers in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Recent projects include co-organizing with Raoul Deal “Watershed: Art, Activism, and Community Engagement” and co-creating a community-based art installation with Paul Kjelland at the Villard Square Library in North Milwaukee. Other projects include working as an artist on actions with the Rain Forest Action Network (Chicago chapter), Tamms Year Ten, and Iraq Veteran's Against the War (Chicago chapter). His first book A People’s Art History of the United States (the New Press) will be published in November 2013.
