Matthew is an actor and an AmSAT certified teacher of the Alexander Technique. He holds a BA in Liberal Arts from NYU and an MFA in Acting from the University of Tennessee. As a member of Actors’ Equity he has performed a number of roles at the Clarence Brown Theatre, including Stanley, A Streetcar Named Desire; Berowne, Love’s Labour’s Lost; Fred, A Christmas Carol; and Pedro, Man of La Mancha. Other theatres have included Hudson Shakespeare Company, the Minneapolis Fringe Festival, Frontier Theatre Co., and Minneapolis Theatre Garage. Since 2007 Matthew has maintained a private Alexander Technique teaching practice. He specializes in working with performers and has been a guest AT teacher at USC, Cal Arts, Joanna Barron Studio (Santa Monica, CA), and University of Tennessee-Knoxville. In 2010, he co-created and taught a course for Studio 5 in New York with Per Brahe (Yale, NYU) called "Alexander Technique and Mask."
