Steve is president and co-founder of Backlot Imaging, a visual effects and interactive media production firm headquartered in Milwaukee, with offices in Hollywood and Chicago. Backlot does digital visual effects for motion pictures and television, including, wire & rig removal, rotoscoping, blue & green screen compositing, monitor compositing, animated titles & graphics, and 3D virtual sets & particle effects. BLI also provides previsualization animatics & architectural renderings, film & high definition video restoration, as well as DVD and web site design & implementation. He has more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, including pictures and television production, electronic film mastering, worldwide broadcast/manufactured distribution, and interactive media production.

Steve recently served as vice president of worldwide technical operations for The Walt Disney Studios. He oversaw all aspects of motion picture and television mastering and restoration for worldwide home video manufacturing and television broadcast distribution. Working in dozens of different technical and international language formats, Steve was technically and operationally responsible for more than two fifths of the world's prerecorded pictures and television programming. Prior to Disney, Steve held increasingly responsible management positions with CBS Television City - Hollywood, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, and Columbia Pictures.
