Jennifer Steinkamp is a Los Angeles-based artist who employs computer animation and new media to create projection installations that explore ideas about architectural space, motion, and phenomenological perception.

Her work has been shown in exhibitions at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA (2005); the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO (2007); Lehmann Maupin Gallery (2008), North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh (2010); and in group exhibitions at the Getty Museum, Los Angeles, CA (2008); the San Antonio Museum of Art (2009); the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Minneapolis, MN (2010), ARCO, Madrid (2010), Wild Things, Kunsthallen Brandts, Odense, Denmark (2010). Additionally, the artist has participated in the 8th Annual Istanbul Biennial and the 11th Cairo International Biennial in Egypt.

Steinkamp's work can be seen in public collections worldwide including, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, The Istanbul Modern in Turkey, the Albright-Knox Gallery in Buffalo, and the Towada Art Center in Japan, among other important private collections worldwide.
