Panther Band

Panther Band is the official UWM pep band, and we perform at all home Men's and Women's basketball games. Panther Band members are paid for each performance and are admitted with Panther Band to all of the basketball games for FREE! It's a great way to show your school spirit, GET PAID for playing fun music, and enjoy some exciting Div. 1 collegiate athletics!

To belong to Panther Band, students must:

  1. Also be enrolled in a Music Dept. Large Ensemble like University Band, University Choir, Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, etc. (this requirement is waived after 2 years of Panther Band membership).
  2. Participate in a few Panther Band rehearsals before and during the course of the basketball season.
  3. Pass a brief audition at the beginning of the season on one of the Panther Band instruments: SAXOPHONE (Alto, Tenor, or Bari), TRUMPET, HORN, TROMBONE, EUPHONIUM/BARITONE, or TUBA (no flutes, clarinets, or "drumline" percussion are used).
  4. RHYTHM SECTION PLAYERS (Drum-set and Electric Bass) are auditioned individually by Mr. Corley. Contact him if you are interested in performing on these instruments (scorley@uwm.edu).
