Women's Chorus

The UWM Women’s Chorus is made up of outstanding music majors and singers from many other academic areas with extensive musical background and experience. The women sing a wide variety of both sacred and secular choral music in all styles and genres, specializing in the performance of the wonderfully diverse repertoire written especially for women’s voices. The 1999-2000 academic year was the inaugural year for the Women’s Chorus, and UWM is proud to offer its outstanding women student this superb performing organization for their personal enrichment and musical fulfillment. The Women’s Chorus regularly performs large choral masterworks with the UWM Concert Chorale, University Choir, and Symphony Orchestra. 


  • Successful audition and instructor permission required.
  • Auditions occur the first week of each semester.
  • Information on auditions can be obtained by viewing the Choir Auditions website.
  • Information on auditions can also be obtained by calling the choral office at 229-3608. Written audition information is posted on the UWM CHOIRS bulletin board across from Music 165 the week before each semester begins.

Students can register for this class in the UWM Schedule of Classes:  

MUSIC 52 Women’s Chorus (music major section); or
MUSIC 53 Women’s Chorus (non-music major section).
