Amy Kail graduated from The Juilliard School with a BFA in dance in 1991. As director and curator of the Fridays at Noon program at The 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, she initiated a workshop series for students 5th through 12th grades establishing and developing the program over a ten year period (1995-2005). During this time, she also regularly facilitated for The Field leading workshops and residencies for choreographers to develop their work and give each other feedback in the process. Amy's own choreography has been presented at The Kitchen, Dixon Place, Joyce SoHo, The 92nd Street Y, Alice Tully Hall, The Construction Company, Here Arts Center, University Settlement, The Merce Cunningham Studio and Brooklyn Arts Exchange. Her dances have also been shown in summer festivals and universities such as The White Mountain Summer Dance Festival and Brown University. Amy has danced professionally with numerous choreographer including Anna Sokolow, Barbara Mahler and Ruby Shang. Currently, Amy is a Teaching Artist with Lincoln Center Institute, The Joyce Theater Education Program and Orchestra of St. Lukes in NYC. She also coordinates an outreach program for The Center for Kinesthetic Education. Amy received a two-year certificate from The Dance Education Laboratory at The 92nd Street Y.
