Jenny Larsson, a native of Sweden, graduated from the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm, Sweden in 2004 with a B.A. in Dance focused on Modern Dance and Flamenco. As a student, Jenny traveled extensively through Spain taking flamenco workshops in Seville, Granada and Madrid with Concha Vargas and Rafaela Carasco, among others. After graduation she joined a flamenco company based in Gothenburg, Sweden where she taught and performed. In 2006 she moved to New York City where she taught flamenco and modern dance and took classes at Dance New Amsterdam. Jenny now lives in South Florida with her family where she performs with Karen Peterson and Dancers, a "mixed-ability" company, and choreographer Joanne Barrett. Through Karen Peterson and Dancers Jenny teaches dance therapy for students with disabilities throughout Miami's public school system. She also teaches dance at an arts-focused high school and for Arts for Learning. Jenny was recently awarded a grant to develop an original piece "And then she said", which premiered at Miami's Excello Dance Space in April 2011.
