Christine McMillan

Christine McMillan: Originally from St. Louis, MO, Christine McMillan received a B.S. in Ballet and Psychology from Indiana University. She is currently in her 12th season dancing with the Metropolitan Opera in New York where she had the opportunity to work with numerous choreographers and directors including Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon, Doug Varone, Mark Morris, Benjamin Millipied, Julie Taymor, Mary Zimmerman, and Francesca Zambello. Her dancing outside of the Met includes work with Ben Munisteri, Cherylyn Lavagnino, Trebien Pollard, and Poppo and the GoGo Boys. Christine is a Bessie award-winning performer cited for her versatility. Prior to New York, Christine danced for 6 years with Richmond Ballet where soloist roles included Rodeo, Carmina Burana, Moor's Pavane, and Nutcracker. She completed her 500hr yoga teacher training through OM Yoga. Christine allows the guiding principles of alignment, clarity, and compassion to inform her teaching. Additional, yoga trainings include Anatomy Studies for Yoga Teachers with Jason Brown, Women Cancer Survivors with Tari Prinster, and Pranayama Teacher Training with Cyndi Lee. Since 2000, she has worked for BroukMoves teaching private yoga and personal training sessions. Her curiosity in better understanding how the body works and in creating a more informed body awareness continues to inspire her studies.
