Mary Ann Wall
Mary Ann Wall is an adjunct professor, production director and administrator for LIU Brooklyn's Dance Department where she teaches freshman and senior seminar, dance history, sets choreography on the undergraduate student body, and produces three main stage student dance concerts a year. Ms. Wall has performed with Monica Bill Barnes, Cid Pearlman, Cynthia Anne Stanley/Bardos Ballet, as a redhead with Johannes Wieland, and collaborated with choreographer April Sellers. She attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and earned a BFA in Dance (Magna Cum Laude) and a BBA in Finance (Cum Laude). She has trained choreographically under Pearl Lang, Nathan Montoya, Susan Sentler, and through the Bessie Schönberg Laboratory in Composition with Neil Greenberg. In August 2002, she found RedWall Dance Theatre, a comedy dance-theater, which reflects both the humor and pain of the everyday, explore gender roles, and the influence of modern society on the individual. RedWall has shown work in New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, California, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin including PS 122, DanceNow at Joe's Pub & Joyce SoHo, Dance New Amsterdam (DNA), Dixon Place, Bryant Lake Bowl (MN), Highways (CA), and Mount Holyoke (MA). She is currently pursuing a masters degree in Media Arts at LIU Brooklyn and a Dance MFA in Performing Arts at UWM. She will present her dance thesis Home/made in the fall of 2013 at Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn, NY. Originally from Florida, for the past ten years she has been exploring and creating in Brooklyn.
