Angie Yetzke is a dancer, choreographer and educator in West Michigan. Her passion is creating collaborative experiences among art makers of all art forms. Her work celebrates ordinary moments and ordinary people and seeks to find humor in the mundane. In 2009 Angie co-founded the Grand Rapids-based "Dance In The Annex" (DITA) which offers master classes and networking opportunities to local professional dancers. She founded and directed the UICA Dance Collaborative (1999-2003), the resident contemporary dance company for the multi-disciplinary Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts, and during that time was awarded the 2002 New Choreography Award through the MI Dance Council. She considers herself an educator first and foremost and has served on the faculties of Western MI University, Grand Valley State University and currently teaches at Hope College in Holland, MI where she is conducting research on the connection between movement and learning. Her choreographic work will be presented this September in the third annual international ArtPrize which takes place in Grand Rapids, MI.
