Stories of Impact:
Joseph Pabst

Joseph R. Pabst

Community Funder Joseph R. Pabst did not graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, but he is so continually impressed with the school's impact on the community that he has become a loyal donor. He is a donor to the Golda Meir Library, the Peck School and its LGBT Film/Video Festival and LGBT Campus Partners, which includes funds and organizations such as the LGBT Studies Program, the LGBT Outreach Fund, and the LGBT Resource Center.

Pabst calls UWM and the Peck School a "jewel in our community" along with other highly respected organizations such as the Milwaukee Art Museum. He says arts organizations like the Peck School enrich the city tremendously and are essential to a city's culture, but are usually underfunded and so it is important to help fund such groups. Pabst donates to many community organizations, but he really enjoys the relationship he has with UWM because of the "extraordinary leadership" and the fact that "every dollar is maximized to its fullest potential and used as passionately as it is given."
