Pamela Schermer is a painter who teaches drawing, design and visual literacy to students in the departments of Architecture and Theatre. She exhibits her award winning landscape, still life and figure paintings in galleries, museums and alternative spaces in New York, Chicago and California. Her current series, "The Origins of Dance", is inspired by the pictorial and theatrical traditons of the Dutch and Italian Baroque. These woodland fantasias utilize groupings of human figures and animals to explore enigmatic narratives of beauty and loss. Her work is represented in over 100 public and private collections.
