Sandy Strawn has been working in theatre for over two decades building, painting and designing stage properties and scenery. Her professional career in properties work is highlighted by five seasons at the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, six seasons at Actors Theatre of Louisville and summer seasons with Utah Shakespeare Festival, Pennsylvania Festival Theatre and Hope Summer Repertory Theatre. She has designed scenery for the PTTP and Northern Stage Company at UWM as well as Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, First Stage Milwaukee, Renaissance Theaterworks, Actors Theatre of Louisville and Phoenix Theatre of Sydney, Australia. Strawn teaches properties construction and design (soft goods and sewing, upholstery, furniture restoration/ construction, molding/casting,) stage management production process and costume crafts classes at UWM as well as leading mask-making workshops statewide.
