Mission:
The UW-Milwaukee Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health conducts rigorous public health research and scholarship; educates the current and future public health workforce; and influences the development of strategies and policies that promote health among diverse populations.

UWM's Zilber School of Public Health is working to establish Milwaukee as a major contributor to public health scholarship, research, and education. In addition, the Zilber School of Public Health advances the understanding of health disparities; enhances the knowledge base, size, and diversity of the local public health workforce; informs and guides public health policy; and addresses community public health issues through effective partnerships with public and private organizations.

The Master of Public Health degree was launched in fall 2011. The Graduate Certificate in Public Health, Wisconsin's first certificate of it's kind, was launched in spring 2008 and has enjoyed strong enrollment. The PhD program in Environmental and Occupational Health launched in fall 2009, and currently has nine enrolled students. The PhD programs in Epidemiology, Public Health Policy, and Public Health with a concentration in Community and Behavioral Health Promotion, are in the planning stages and will be established in the coming years as UWM continues to design programs and recruit the finest faculty in order to achieve the goal of full accreditation.
