Message from the Director of Development
Welcome! As the Director of Development for the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health, I want to thank you for your consideration of a gift to the School. This is an exciting time for all of us to be engaged with the Zilber School of Public Health. In March 2012, the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health Founding Dean, Dr. Magda Peck will join our team, the building at the Pabst Brewery site continues it's rennovation process, and the PhD in Community and Behavioral Health Promotion is on schedule to be approved for Fall 2012.
Gifts to the School from generous donors provide us with the resources we need to educate the next generation of Public Health professionals, pursue research to address public health problems and disseminate those findings locally and nationally to make Milwaukee and Wisconsin a healthier place. With your generous support, we will be able to accomplish this and become a gateway to change for a healthy future.
We hope you will be inspired by our students, faculty, and staff to donate to the Zilber School of Public Health today. For more information, please call my direct line at 414-229-3970, contact me via email at nagy@uwm.edu, or stop in for a visit in my office in the UWM Alumni House, 3230 E Kenwood Blvd, Room 327E.
Thank you,
Monika Nagy Walloch

Online Giving
To make a gift online, click here and fill out the forms that follow. You may designate your gift by selecting the Zilber School of Public Health from the drop down box.
Pledge
Donors interested in providing a major contribution to the Zilber School of Public Health often chose to make a multi-year commitment is rather than making the gift all at once. Major gift pledges can be payable over 2 to 5 years, and may establish an endowed fund or help support current needs in the School. Naming opportunities may also be available.
Matching Gifts
Check to see if you work for a company that will match your gift.
Memorials & Honorariums
Gifts in memory or in honor of a relative or friend are a generous and thoughtful way to recognize a person's life and accomplishments. When an honorary or memorial gift is made, the UWM Foundation will notify the honoree or next of kin, and the gift is administered as specified by the donor.
Appreciated Securities
Transferring stocks, bonds, treasuries, and mutual funds, held long term, to the UWM Foundation for the Zilber School of Public Health allows you to make a gift and receive a charitable deduction equal to the full market value of the securities. You may also avoid paying capital gains tax on your appreciated gift.
Planned Gift
Designating a planned gift to the Zilber School of Public Health enables you to realize your long-term charitable goals and make a significant impact on the university without making a current gift of cash or securities. A bequest in your will, annuities, trusts, and investment income contributions are some common means of gift planning. Please consider using the following language, or contact me to discuss:
“I bequeath ____ to the UWM Foundation, Inc. for the benefit of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Zilber School of Public Health. I would like my gift to be used to support (fellowships, general scholarship, unrestricted, etc.) within the Zilber School of Public Health.
UWM Gives to UWM
If you are a current member of the UWM faculty or staff, you will be invited each spring to consider giving back to the University through this internal annual campaign. By making a financial gift via the UWM Gives to UWM campaign, faculty and staff can directly support the Zilber School of Public Health. The effect of each and every gift is significant. Donations strengthen academic programs and enhance the lives of the students who receive a degree from the School.
